This year, more than 250 children from five different elementary schools visited us, along with their teachers, for whom we prepared various programs at the request of the school management. Several of our members took care of them (leading, explaining, and serving).

Pupils from the Rihard Jakopič Ljubljana Elementary School, who visited us on June 10, and from the Brinje Grosuplje Elementary School, who visited us on October 24, only visited the drying room and listened to an explanation about organic fruit drying. Pupils from the Horjul Elementary School visited us on November 12. In addition to the drying room, they also visited an exhibition of old rural tools and listened to an explanation of how individual items were used in the past. We served them a traditional "Trubarjeva malica"(Trubar`snack): porridge with prunes and "krhljevka" (dried fruit compote).

The most extensive program (science day) was held by pupils from the Videm-Dobrepolje Elementary School, who were with us on October 3, and from the Velike Lašče Elementary School, who visited us on October 7. In addition to a tour and explanation of the drying room and under the hayloft with old tools, they also visited the black kitchen. They tried their hand at cutting fruit themselves. They learned how to process fruit and vegetables in an ecological way and store them for the winter. They participated in grinding and pressing apples into juice, which they then really liked. They tried grating cabbage and turnips, and quite a bit of these vegetables also went into their stomachs. At the end, they had a well-deserved snack: homemade bread with butter, honey and homemade jam, and "krhljevka", which not everyone liked, probably because they had already quenched their thirst with juice earlier. They enjoyed it the most because they were able to participate in various tasks themselves.
